Emergency management

The University of Missouri Police Department is responsible for the emergency management function on campus. MU Emergency Management ensures that the university is well-prepared for all hazards.

MU Emergency Management can’t do this alone. We take a whole community approach to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. The department works closely with others across campus, as well as external stakeholders, and facilitates the Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee (EPAC). We closely collaborate with MU Healthcare and receive support from the University of Missouri System Office of Emergency Management.

In the event of an emergency or disaster impacting campus, MU Emergency Management will coordinate critical functions and services to provide a unified response through MU’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
