A Security Sergeant oversees the security officers and reports to the Support Services Commander. Security Officers are civilian employees and assigned to the patrol shifts under the immediate supervision of the shift commander. Security Officers perform departmental functions related to routine patrol work by safeguarding campus buildings, property and personnel against fire, theft, disturbances, property damage and loss. Duties include providing safety escorts, building security, traffic direction for special events, fleet maintenance, equipment management, emergency phone checks, transporting supplies, posting closed campus signs and other duties as assigned.
