MUPD Receives Reaccreditation Through CALEA and IACLEA:

At the November 2015 Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) conference, the University of Missouri Police Department (MUPD) was reaccredited for the fifth time. The department received Advanced Accreditation with Excellence. Additionally, with the department being accredited for 15 years or more, MUPD was recognized as a “Meritorious Agency.”

Additional information on accreditation with excellence can be obtained from CALEA’s web site at:

Upon receiving reaccreditation through CALEA and meeting additional standards specific to campus law enforcement, MUPD also was reaccredited through The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This is the department’s third reaccreditation through IACLEA. Additional information on IACLEA accreditation can be obtained from IACLEA’s web site at:

“It is important to Mizzou that our police officers maintain the highest quality standards among sworn officers nationally. The level of professionalism by MUPD officers is something everyone at MU should commend,” said Gary L. Ward, vice chancellor for MU Operations.

MUPD is the only university in Missouri to be accredited through both organizations. The department continues to maintain accreditation in its efforts to provide the best professional law enforcement services to the community it serves.
