MUPD Investigating Report of Vandalism at Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center:

University of Missouri Police currently are investigating a report of a vandalism at the MU Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center (GOBCC). At approximately 12:48 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, an unknown suspect spray-painted over a portion of the sign identifying the GOBCC. Police have received no reports of injuries.

MUPD investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the area as part of the investigation.

“Safety and security of our students is our top priority, and we are investigating all crimes as they are reported to us,” MUPD Chief Doug Schwandt said. “We are receiving assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and will continue to have an increased security presence on campus for the foreseeable future.”

Do to the ongoing investigation, additional details cannot be released at this time.
