The University of Missouri Police Department would like to make the community aware of catalytic converter thefts on campus. The department has received eight reports of theft from University Lot CG-1. Vehicles include seven Chevy Cavaliers and one Oldsmobile Alero. In addition, the department has received the report of one theft from a lot at Ellis Fischel Hospital involving another Oldsmobile Alero. These thefts occurred between Sept. 5th and Sept. 12th. No suspect information is available at this time.

While the University Police Department and University Hospital Security patrol these lots, we need your help reporting suspicious activity. If you observe suspicious activity use one of the campus emergency phones or call (573) 882-7201 to report the activity. In emergency situations call 911.

Note: The City of Columbia Police Department has also seen a number of thefts involving catalytic converters, see similar release from the CPD.
