Update on Reported Sex Offenses

On April 5 the University of Missouri Police Department arrested Scott Thoreson, Date of Birth 03/25/94, for three counts of Sexual Misconduct in the 2nd Degree, which is a Class B Misdemeanor, in reference to the two reported sex offenses.

The University Police Department would like to thank the community for additional information, which aided in the investigation to identify Thoreson as the suspect. Working together we can continue to make the campus a safer place.

Information on Reported Sex Offenses

The University of Missouri Police Department has received two reports of an individual exposing himself yesterday.

In the first incident, a female reported to officers that around 5:20 p.m., April 3, she observed a vehicle that appeared to be following her. The vehicle backed into the entrance of University Parking Lot WG-11 (North of Lewis and Clark Hall) and parked. When she approached the vehicle, she observed the male driver exposing himself.

The suspect was described as a white male around 30 years of age with light colored hair. She believed he had some facial hair, was wearing a gray tank top shirt, and weighed approximately 250 to 275 pounds.

The vehicle was described as cherry red, middle to late nineties four door passenger car that was possibly a Honda Civic.

In the second incident, a female told officers that while she was walking along Tiger Avenue, she noticed a red vehicle driving very slowly next to her. She observed the individual in the car exposing himself.

The suspect in this incident was described as a white male in his late twenties to early thirties. The witness stated that the suspect was young in appearance, clean-shaven, and had gray hair.

The second incident occurred at approximately 5:56 p.m. on April 3. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Tiger Avenue, just south of Turner Avenue. The vehicle was described as an older model car, with the first three digits of the license plate reading "UA0."
